Notice of Public Hearing - Planning Commission - CPA22-001 Comprehensive Plan Amendment

August 22, 2022 - Notice is hereby given that the Mercer Island Planning Commission will hold a public hearing at its regular hybrid meeting on Wednesday, September 28, 2022, at 6pm to receive comments on a proposed amendment to the Mercer Island Comprehensive Plan. The proposal would remove Figure TC-1. Retail Use Adjacent to Street Frontages from Land Use Element Section V., Land Use Policies, Town Center, as well as remove the reference to the map in Goal 4.2. This amendment is proposed to ensure consistency of Mercer Island City Code (MICC) 19.11.020(B) with this Land Use section. MICC 19.11.020(B) was previously amended by Ordinance No. 22C-09, adopted on June 21, 2022.

Documents related to this proposal can be found at https://mieplan.mercergov.org/public/CPA22-001/. This public folder will be updated as the process moves forward.

The Planning Commission meeting will be held in a hybrid format using Zoom, and the public will have the opportunity to comment during the public hearing in-person at the Mercer Island Community and Event Center or by calling in or logging onto the meeting as a Zoom attendee. City Staff will also accept written comments until such time that the public hearing is adjourned. The hybrid meeting is scheduled to begin at 6pm.

Detailed instructions on how to comment live during the public hearing will be available online on or before September 14, 2022, at https://www.mercerisland.gov/bc-pc/page/planning-commission-regular-hybrid-meeting-1.
