City of Mercer Island Announces Leadership Transition in Police Department

MERCER ISLAND, WA - The City and Police Chief Chris Sutter have mutually agreed to Chief Sutter’s separation from the Mercer Island Police Department, including a severance package. The City wishes Chief Sutter well in his future personal and professional endeavors.

Interim Deputy Police Chief Michelle Bennett has been appointed by the City Manager to serve as the Interim Police Chief. The City will consider the process to permanently fill the position later this year.
