How to Schedule an Inspection
Most inspections are scheduled online at MyBuildingPermit.com. This site provides "same day" service for many inspection types if you make your request by 6am (see exceptions below). Fire System and Fire Protection inspections are requested online EastsideFire-Rescue.org.
You can also schedule a "next day" inspection by calling the Inspection Request Line at (206) 275-7730. Inspection requests that are submitted before 4pm will typically be scheduled for the following work day (see below for common exceptions). Remember that you must schedule an inspection for any concrete, foundation, and/or wall work three days prior to pour. When calling to request an inspection make sure you leave the following information on the recording:
- Main permit number
- Sub-permit number (if applicable)
- Job site address
- Owner's name
- Your name
- Contact phone number
- Type of inspection needed
- Date you want inspection
Failure to provide the required information outlined above may delay an inspection.
Many Inspection Services are offered "Same Day" or "Next Day", except as noted below:
Footing, Foundation, Framing & Final Inspections
Although your inspector will strive to perform these inspections on the scheduled day, please schedule them at least 3-days early to confirm staffing will be available. During times of peak inspection load, these longer inspections may be rolled over to the next business day.
Pre-Construction Meetings (both general and water service)
Pre-Con Meetings are typically not next-day inspections. Once the Pre-Con has been requested, staff will call you to schedule a date and time for the meeting or inspection, typically within three days of the date selected.
Fire Inspections
Fire Inspections are scheduled in the order received, using Eastside Fire and Rescue's Online Request Form (click link).
