Calkins is a non-guarded beach with available space for picnics.

Pets are not allowed at public swim areas from May 1 to September 30. Outside of these times dogs are allowed on the beach but must be on a leash at all times. Link to Off Leash Areas on Mercer Island

Driving Directions

• From Eastbound from I-90 take the West Mercer Way Exit #6.
  • Take a right off the ramp turn right on 28th street and it is located on SE 28th Street and 60th Ave SE.
• From Westbound from I-90 take the Island Crest Way Exit #7.
  • Continue through 2 stoplights. At 76th Ave SE, turn left and go to stop sign. Turn right up the hill onto SE 24th Street. At stop sign, Turn left onto West Mercer Way, turn right on SE 28th Street and it is located on SE 28th Street and 60th Ave SE.
