Restoration Event | Gallagher Hill
Gallagher Hill Planting and Mulching Party!
Gallagher Hill Open Space is a beautiful park with old trees, a thriving stream, and plenty of native plant and animal life. A lot of the park is unfortunately being overgrown with blackberry and ivy, threating the health of this vital ecosystem. Volunteers have been hard at work clearing back these weeds, and now we’re ready to put more native plants in the ground. We’ll also be spending a thick layer of mulch on all cleared areas to help prevent the regrowth of weeds!
No experience necessary; gloves and tools are provided. All ages welcome. Please note: we require participants aged 14 and under to volunteer with a parent or guardian at a ratio of 1 adult to 3 kids.
