Restoration Event | Island Crest Park

Join us for a Forest Steward led work party in Island Crest Park! At this work party volunteers will help to clear ivy growing on the forest floor, and growing up our native trees. Removing ivy is an important way to help make our forests healthier. If left alone the ivy will continue to grow over native plants until there are no other plants left. Your help will make more space for native plants to grow and increase overall habitat value of the park!

No experience necessary, all ages welcome. Please note: we require participants aged 14 and under to volunteer with a parent or guardian at a ratio of 1 adult to 3 kids.

• When: Thursday, Oct 1^st, 10am-12pm
• Where:  Island Crest Park, exact location will be shared prior to event.
• What to bring: Dress for the weather in clothes you don’t mind getting dirty (think: long pants, boots or sneakers). Bring water. Small snacks, gloves, and tools will be provided.
