2025 Arterial and Residential Street Overlays

Last week, the City’s contractor, Lakeridge Paving, completed full asphalt paving of 71^st Avenue SE from SE 24^th Street to 70^th Avenue SE. This week, the contractor completed shoulder restoration and started adjusting existing utility castings to grade on 71^st Avenue. Next week the contractor is scheduled to complete the utility adjustments on 71^st Avenue. Later in September, following the completion of the 2024 Water System Improvements project, the contractor will move to SE 46^th and SE 47^th Streets, SE 47^th Place, and 84^th and 86^th Avenues to repave those roadways.

This week, the City’s contractor, Lakeridge Paving, started work on the project with pavement repairs and asphalt grinding. This project includes two streets on the north end of the island (66th Avenue SE and 71st Avenue SE) and a neighborhood in the central portion of the island between Island Crest Way and West Mercer Way (SE 46th Street, SE 47th Street, SE 47th Place, 84th Avenue SE, and 86th Avenue SE). Next week, the contractor plans to repave 66^th Avenue SE with a hot mix asphalt overlay.

Earlier this week, the City’s contractor, Lakeridge Paving, completed full width asphalt grinding of 71^st Avenue from SE 24^th to the 2800 block. A hot mix asphalt overlay is being placed today (August 8^th). Next week, the contractor will complete shoulder restoration and adjust existing utility castings to grade on 71^st Avenue. Later in September, following the completion of the 2024 Water System Improvements project, the contractor will move to SE 46^th and SE 47^th Streets, SE 47^th Place, and 84^th and 86^th Avenues to repave those roadways.
