Background

Localized ponding can occur along 86th Ave SE and SE 47th Street during heavy rains.

Description

Several catch basins will be installed in the neighborhood to collect stormwater including one along 86th AVE SE, south of SE 46th Street and two along SE 47th Street between 86th Ave SE and 84th Ave SE.  The existing storm drainage system along 84th Ave SE, which currently includes a combination of ditches and driveway culverts will be replaced with a 12-inch diameter storm sewer pipe that will connect to the existing storm sewer at the corner of SE 47th Pl and 84th Ave SE.  This new system will improve the collection and conveyance of storm drainage and reduce surface ponding.
