Mercer Island has a variety of grass and synthetic turf multi-use athletic fields serving resident and regional programming. The Parks and Recreation Department strives to maximize the use of all athletic field venues, while preserving the park assets. Field allocation prioritizes in-season sports, on-Island users, and recreation-based youth programs.
All City field usage is scheduled though the Mercer Island Parks and Recreation Department. Please view the documents at the bottom of the page for reservation guide, fees and application.
Rentals have priority use of the field. The weekly field schedule may not reflect rentals booked within the last 72 hours. We kindly ask all community members to be respectful and courteous to those with reservations.

Baseball/softball turf field rentals have priority over the batting cage. In instances where a baseball/softball group is renting the batting cage only and not utilizing the field, please contact staff to reserve the turf field before use.
In instances where a non-baseball/softball group is utilizing the field, the batting cages may be available. Please contact staff to reserve the cages prior to use.

Now accepting Fall/Winter (September-February) season of use. Online submissions will be accepted only. No e-mail requests.
Tournaments, opening days, events that may have include street, parking, or additional facility impacts, please fill out a Special Event Application in addition to the Field Use Request Form.
Ball-field Condition Hotline: 206.275.7894
The Parks Maintenance Team maintains the field condition hot-line to let field users know when the fields have been closed due to weather. It is updated every day during the spring season - weekdays by 2:00 pm and weekends by 7:00 am.
Spring and Summer season begins March 1 and runs through August.
Fall
Fall season begins in September and runs through November. All grass fields are closed to play from the third week in November through March 1.
Winter
The only fields open for use during this time are synthetic turf fields at: the South Mercer Play Fields, Islander Middle School, and Island Crest Park North field.
Tennis Courts
Tennis instruction requires court reservations, available at Aubrey Davis & Homestead Courts, one designated court per facility.
