Daniel Becker Appointed to Mercer Island City Council

At the June 3 City Council meeting, Daniel Becker was unanimously appointed to Position No. 7 on the City Council, which has been vacant since Councilmember Jake Jacobson's passing in March.

Councilmember Becker previously served on the City’s Arts Council, most recently as Vice Chair. He graduated from Mercer Island High School in 2001 and currently lives on the north end of the Island with his husband and son, where he enjoys walking their rescue dog around the quiet streets and parks surrounding their neighborhood.

He has an undergraduate business degree from the University of Washington. He still owns and runs the company he co-founded during college, after growing it to 200+ employees, where he serves as CTO and CFO.

Councilmember Becker will serve until the certification of the General Election results in late November 2025.
