Restoration Event | SE 53rd Open Space
Saturday, January 10, 2026 - 10:00am to 1:00pm
Join us for a planting party SE 53rd Open Space. This beautiful park is home to dynamic trails, a watercourse, a wetland, and plenty of bird action! Volunteers have been doing a lot of work removing common ivy. Now that we have cleared some of the forest floor, we’re going to plant native trees, shrubs, and ground covers, to help increase the biodiversity of the park.
No experience necessary, all ages welcome! Please note: we require participants aged 14 and under to volunteer with a parent or guardian at a ratio of 1 adult to 3 kids.
- When: Saturday, January 10th, 10am-1pm
- Where: SE 53rd Open Space, location will be provided on sign-up
- What to bring: Dress for the weather in clothes you don’t mind getting dirty (think: long pants, boots or sneakers). Bring water. Small snacks, gloves, and tools will be provided.
