Do you love Mercer Island Parks? Do you want to learn more about forest restoration? Do you want to have a more active role in helping to care for your local park or open space? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then consider becoming a Mercer Island Forest Steward!

Forest Stewards help ecological restoration efforts on the island through one or more of the following:

  • Adopting a park, or section of a park, and preforming various restoration tasks like weed removal, native planting, mulching, etc
  • Leading volunteer efforts
  • Helping provide educational opportunities to the public

If you're interested in joining a group of like-minded enthusiastic nature lovers, and want to make a difference in your community, then you should attend our upcoming Informational and Training Session!

  • What: This will be a 2-hour informational and training session. You can expect to learn more about our Forest Stewardship program, restoration ecology, the history of work done on the Island, and more!
  • When: Tuesday, June 2nd, 6-8pm
