Athletic Fields & Tennis Courts

Mercer Island has a variety of grass and synthetic turf multi-use athletic fields serving resident and regional programming. The Parks and Recreation Department strives to maximize the use of all athletic field venues, while preserving the park assets. Field allocation prioritizes in-season sports, on-Island users, and recreation-based youth programs.

All City field usage is scheduled though the Mercer Island Parks and Recreation Department. Please view the documents at the bottom of the page for reservation guide, fees and application.

Spring / Summer

Spring season begins March 1. Baseball, softball and lacrosse are prioritized for field allocation. Summer seasons begins mid-June; baseball, softball and summer camps are prioritized for allocation.

The Parks Maintenance Team maintains the field condition hotline to let field users know when the fields have been closed due to weather.  It is updated every day during the spring season - weekdays by 2:00 pm and weekends by 7:00 am.

Fall

Fall season begins the last week in August and runs through November. Soccer and football are prioritized for field allocation. Baseball and softball fields are modified for fall sports; there is limited availability of softball or baseball fields to reserve or utilize during this season.

Note:  All grass fields are closed to play from the third week in November through March 1.

Winter

The only fields open for use during this time are synthetic turf fields at: the South Mercer Play Fields, Islander Middle School and the Island Crest Park north field.

Tennis Courts 

• Tennis instruction requires court reservations, available at Aubrey Davis & Homestead Courts, one designated court per facility.
