Sealed bids will be received until 2:00 PM on June 3, 2021. Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic and the temporary closure of the City Hall building, all bidders shall submit their bids in PDF format via electronic transmission to the Public Works email address at: publicworks@mercerisland.gov. There will be no public bid opening for this project; bid results will be posted on the City’s web page at: https://www.mercerisland.gov/rfps.

Additional site visits are possible, perspective bidders must make request via email at fred.gu@mercerisland.gov, or by phone at 206-771-0236. Do not enter project site without prior permission as portions of the project site is privately owned. Violation may result in disqualification.

An on-site, pre-bid conference will begin at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 by the shoulder of 6500 block East Mercer Way, Mercer Island. Safety vest and waterproof boots are advised for the site visit. Do not enter project site without prior permission as portion of the project site is privately owned - violation may result in disqualification. The City reserves the right to cancel this meeting at any time.

Work to be performed under this contract includes furnishing all labor, equipment, and materials necessary to stabilize approximately 1200 LF of reach where previously installed gabion baskets and sandbag check dams are eroding. The work includes, but is not limited to, invasive removal, dewatering, temporary erosion control, installing timber frame structures on the banks, bed control structures and stream cobbles in the channel, and re-vegetation with native plants.

A single contract will be awarded to the responsible bidder submitting the lowest responsive bid. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive minor irregularities.

A bid deposit in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid total price must accompany each bid.
