Engineers Estimated Cost (range): $1,520,000 to $1,943,000

Sealed  bids  will  be  received,  not  sent,  electronically  by  the  city  until  2:00  PM,  Thursday,  March 21, 2024. Bidders shall submit their bids in PDF format to the Public Works email address at bids@mercerisland.gov.

There will be no public bid opening for this project; bid results will be posted on the City’s webpage at: https://www.mercerisland.gov/rfps.

Work to be performed under this contract includes, but is not limited to furnishing all labor, equipment, and materials necessary for demolition or abandonment of four existing pressure reducing valve stations, construction of four new pressure reducing valve stations and associated appurtenances including 6-inch through 12-inch connections to existing water mains, a timber pedestrian staircase with handrails, domestic and irrigation water services, storm pipe with catch basin connections, rock wall, fire hydrant, concrete curb and gutter, concrete curb ramp, and asphalt and concrete roadway pavement restoration. Temporary erosion/water pollution control, temporary traffic control and devices, temporary water main bypasses including pressure control, temporary water services, property restoration and other miscellaneous items will also be necessary to complete the work.

A non-mandatory pre-bid walk-through will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2024 from 10:00 A.M. to 1:00

P.M. Pacific Standard Time. Walk-through will begin at the City of Mercer Island City Hall parking lot at 9611 SE 36th St, Mercer Island, to discuss the work, bidding forms, and procedures. All four sites will be visited during this walk through. Contractors are strongly encouraged to review bid documents prior to the pre-bid walk-through to gather questions and specific items to review at the meeting. Attendance by bidders, subcontractors and suppliers is strongly encouraged.

A single contract is to be awarded to the responsible bidder submitting the lowest responsive bid. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive minor irregularities.

Bidders are encouraged to register in order to receive automatic email notification of future addenda and to be placed on the official bidders list.

A bid deposit in the amount of five percent (5 percent) of the bid total price must accompany each bid.
