REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS No. 25-43
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Mercer Island, Washington is requesting bid proposals from qualified suppliers/vendors for PS 20 Pumps, Check Valves, & Services. Work included in this contract includes the furnishing and delivery of pumps, valves, and services that meet the design and performance criteria outlined in the Technical Specifications for the Sewer Pump Station 20 Replacement Project. It is anticipated that the pumps will be installed (by others) during Summer 2026.The services to be rendered before and/or after installation include, but are not limited to: inspection, calibration, startup, and field testing, repair and re-testing, as required, warranty certification, and delivery of all required submittals, including product data, shop drawings, O&M manuals, and warranties. Engineer’s estimate is $285,000 to $300,000.

The selected contractor will be required to meet and agree to all the conditions in the RFP and RFP Attachments, as well as the Required Bid Forms, EXHIBIT “A”, the SAMPLE Contract Documents, EXHIBIT “B”, and the City’s General Terms and Conditions, EXHIBIT “C”.
Questions regarding the project may be directed to Chris Marks, Utilities Engineer, at chris.marks@mercerisland.gov. Questions are to be received no later than 12:00 PM, Friday, Sept. 19, 2025.
All interested contractors shall submit the required bid forms electronically to bids@mercerisland.gov no later than 2:00PM, Sept. 25, 2025, to be eligible. All submittals shall be clearly titled: “PS 20 Pumps, Check Valves, & Services – <Contractor name>”.
The City of Mercer Island, in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, 78 Stat. 252, 42 U.S.C. 2000d to 2000d-4 and Title 49, Code of Federal Regulations, Department of Transportation, Subtitle A, Office of the Secretary, Part 21, Nondiscrimination in Federally-assisted programs of the Department of Transportation issued pursuant to such Act, hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged business enterprises as defined at 49 CFR Part 23 will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, national origin, or sex in consideration for an award.
