Is it Still Usable? Consider Donating!

Do you have clothes/furniture/décor that are still in usable condition? Don't forget that the City has its own  Thrift Shop that help raise money for social services programs. Their list of accepted used items is available here. The Thrift Shop also hosts a a Battery Recycling Box to allow Islanders to safely and responsibly recycle dry cell single-use batteries, rechargeable batteries, and cellphones. It is located inside the Thrift Shop's main entrance.

Bi-Annual City Recycling Events

The Island sponsors two special collection events each year, the Spring Recycling Event and the Fall Recycling Event, usually in March and October. A variety of "hard to recycle" items are collected at these free events, which are funded through King County grants. Watch for announcements on the City's homepage calendar or our social media sites. Click here to view an example flyer from a past event.
