December 8, 2025, 6:30-8:00PM
Mercer Island Community and Event Center

Mercer Island Youth and Family Services and the Mercer Island PTA Council’s Parent Edge are co-sponsoring this program for parents and caregivers.  The program, “Moving Beyond Stranger Danger: Personal Safety Conversations for Today’s Youth”, will provide practical tips and helpful resources for having meaningful, informed, age-appropriate conversations about personal safety with children.

The program will include the following topics:

  • What “stranger danger” misses in today’s context
  • How youth are navigating safety online and offline
  • Tools and strategies to help families talk about boundaries, consent, and safety
  • Ways to support your child’s confidence and decision-making

This free presentation will be facilitated by King County Sexual Assault Resource Center (KCSARC) prevention specialists.  The content is appropriate for parents and caregivers of children in kindergarten through 12th grade.
