ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
Project Title: 76th Avenue SE Mid-block Crossing and ADA Improvements Bid Number: 25-58
Engineers Estimated Cost: $512,000
Bidders shall submit their bids in PDF format to the Public Works email address at: bids@mercerisland.gov. Sealed bids must be received electronically by the City no later than 2 pm on February 19, 2026. Bidders must allow time for the electronic transmission to complete to avoid a late submittal. There will be no public bid opening for this project. Bid results will be posted on the City’s web page at: https://www.mercerisland.gov/rfps.
Bidder questions are to be directed to Rebecca Corigliano, Transportation Engineer, by email only at rebecca.corigliano@mercerisland.gov. The City will receive questions until 1 pm on February 12, 2026. Questions received after this date will not be answered. All questions and responses will be posted in an addendum by February 17, 2026 to the Builders Exchange site.
Work to be performed under this contract includes improvements at five sites across the City including:
- Site 1, 76th Ave SE west of SE 27th St: Upgrade existing mid-block crossing including refuge island, curb ramps, illumination, channelization, and RRFB enhancement.
- Site 2, N Mercer Way & SE 22nd St: Upgrade existing curb ramps to meet ADA standards and install illumination, channelization, and signing for mid-block crossing.
- Site 3, 77th Ave SE & SE 29th St: Upgrade existing curb ramps to meet ADA standards and install channelization and signing.
- Site 4, 84th Ave SE & SE 26th St: Upgrade existing curb ramps to meet ADA standards and install channelization and signing.
- Site 5, 84th Ave SE north of SE 26th St: Construct curb ramps and install channelization and signing for mid-block crossing.
The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive minor irregularities.
Plans, specifications, addenda, and bidders list are available on-line through Builders Exchange of Washington, Inc. at http://www.bxwa.com. Click on “Posted Projects”, “Public Works”, “City of Mercer Island”, “Projects Bidding”. Builders Exchange manages the official bidders list. Bidders are encouraged to register in order to receive automatic email notification of future addenda and to be placed on the official bidders list.
Plans and specifications are also available at the City of Mercer Island website https://www.mercerisland.gov/rfps. Addenda may not be available or updated on this website.
A bid deposit in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid total price must accompany each bid.
The City of Mercer Island, in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, 78 Stat. 252, 42
